Introduction to The Unsilenced Acting School

The Unsilenced is a weekend acting school designed for those treading an unconventional path into the industry. This is a home for the bold, raw, and talented. We turn what makes you different into what makes you stand out.

Founded by actor and filmmaker DéObia Oparéi, whose many credits include Game Of Thrones and Sex Education, and whose numerous theatre credits include The Royal Shakespeare Company and The Royal Court.

Curriculum at The Unsilenced Acting School

This is methodology-free actor training that draws on multiple movement and acting approaches, including Grotowski, Laban, Lecoq, Feldenkrais, Stanislavski, as well as African and Indigenous performance styles and traditions.

Our artistic curriculum includes on-camera acting, audition techniques, cold reading, self taping, breath, body, movement, and voice-work. Learn to read and break down a script, create a compelling character, and develop dramatic character arcs.

Tutoring by Industry Professionals

You will be tutored by working professionals who have firsthand experience of booking high profile film, television, and theatre work, and have maintained longevity in their careers.
