DéObia Oparéi is an actor, writer and director whose work spans film, television and theatre. A Royal Court Theatre playwright (debut play), DéObia's writing is rooted in bold, contemporary storytelling and a commitment to underrepresented voices.
As an actor, DéObia has worked with some of the greatest film directors of our generation, including Baz Luhrmann, David Fincher and Tim Burton, gaining first-hand experience on major studio productions and absorbing invaluable lessons from the highest level of filmmaking.
Across an extensive international career, DéObia has worked alongside an extraordinary range of talent, from Nicole Kidman (Moulin Rouge) to Olivia Colman (JIMPA) and Johnny Depp (Pirates Of The Caribbean) to Tom Hiddleston (LOKI), forging long-standing relationships within the industry.
Today, DéObia brings more than three decades of experience across theatre, film and television into The Unsilenced—and along with a team of other professional actors they have designed a creative ecosystem designed to train talent, develop voices, create opportunities and give artists the infrastructure to make the work they were told to wait for.
